Abdul Taleb
Associate Solicitor
Abdul Taleb is a criminal defence solicitor at Elbob & Stephenson Legal with a strong courtroom presence and a deep understanding of Victoria’s justice system. Having spent over five years as a Court Registrar across key metropolitan Magistrates’ Courts including Melbourne, Broadmeadows and Heidelberg, Abdul brings a rare depth of procedural insight and practical experience to every matter he handles.
Abdul practices primarily in criminal law, traffic offences, and intervention order proceedings, regularly appearing on behalf of clients in Magistrates’ Court listings such as bail applications, pleas, and contest mentions. His experience on both sides of the courtroom — first as a judicial officer, then as an advocate — gives him a unique perspective that benefits clients facing challenging legal situations.
Prior to joining Elbob & Stephenson Legal, Abdul worked as a solicitor with a boutique criminal law firm, where he acted in complex indictable matters, instructed counsel in the higher courts, and built a reputation for his clear advice, measured advocacy and empathetic client engagement.
Abdul holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from Victoria University, a Bachelor of Criminal Justice from RMIT University, and a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from the College of Law. He is admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Victoria and is fluent in both English and Arabic, making him a valuable support for clients from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Beyond the courtroom, Abdul thoroughly enjoys being involved with his local football club, Northern Saints Football Club and is a passionate Carlton supporter.
